  • City Operations Programme (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 20 July 2011
I have two issues in mind. The first is with street signage on public transport. As a tourist at Athens and at Beijing, I found that very useful in my experience of those cities. I am just wondering whether any thought has been put into that in the London context over and above what the ambassadors will be doing on the street level.
  • Housing Demand (Supplementary) [29]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 24 October 2007
Just coming back to the issue of the figures for housing, I think it would have been useful to have had someone from the Housing Corporation explain those figures because I have had difficulties getting some idea of what their methodology is on that front and it will undoubtedly become an annual political football. Coming to what I wanted to raise with Neale: the unimplemented planning permissions. Where do you think the explanation lies for that? Is it the five year limit on planning permissions? Is there not the building capacity to build them out? It would be useful, given...
  • Range of Housing (Supplementary) [12]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 24 October 2007
Neale, you missed out housing cooperatives. They are based on mutuality. They are an obvious model for intermediate housing, particular for young people.
  • Range of Housing (Supplementary) [13]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 24 October 2007
Just one more point: the Tenant Management Organisation (TMOs). The Mayor will have responsibility for the Decent Homes programmes now, I understand. Presumably he will be keener on TMOs than going through local authorities, because of their involvement in the management. As Val said, the issue of quality of service is as important as the quantity of housing available.
  • Range of Housing (Supplementary) [14]

    • Question by: Murad Qureshi
    • Meeting date: 24 October 2007
Just going back to this question of different kinds of housing, what place will housing co-operatives, tenant management organisations and Black and Minority Ethnic Registered Social Landlords have in the Mayor's overall strategy?
  • Unitary Development Plans

    • Reference: 2002/0334-1
    • Question by: Eric Ollerenshaw
    • Meeting date: 11 December 2002
What pressures have been put on local Authorities to increase the density of Housing within their Unitary Development Plans? Can you list the Boroughs concerned and the extent of any increase in comparison with the Borough original UDP figure? .
  • Regeneration Estates

    • Reference: 2002/0335-1
    • Question by: Eric Ollerenshaw
    • Meeting date: 11 December 2002
Can you list existing and future regeneration Estates that have had to have their density levels increased to meet the Mayor's new targets and can you itemise the level of increase on these Estates? .
  • Housing (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Eric Ollerenshaw
    • Meeting date: 11 December 2002
So, therefore, the Labour Assembly Member's attempt to expose Tory resistance to achieving the affordable homes target, set out in the draft London Plan, as in the Labour Group press release in advance of this meeting, is inaccurate, would one say? 'Labour Assembly Members will expose Tory resistance to achieving the affordable homes target set out in the draft London Plan'. So, what you're indicating is there hasn't been resistance, other than, I suppose, every borough's natural desire to consult its own residents about what is practical in its own area. And not every borough, I presume, naturally and quite...
  • Housing (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Eric Ollerenshaw
    • Meeting date: 11 December 2002
To be fair, Neale, I yet haven't seen the Labour Assembly Member's exposure. So, presumably we are waiting for it to come
  • Housing (Supplementary) [9]

    • Question by: Eric Ollerenshaw
    • Meeting date: 11 December 2002
Can I just go back to where you commented about Westminster and your negotiations with all political persuasions in terms of authorities. You say there's actually a decent relationship out there with Tory boroughs, Labour boroughs, Liberal and hung boroughs, in terms of attempting to meet the London Plan targets?
