    TfL gets a huge amount of correspondence about its consultations and other issues. It must be a very difficult task to deal with. In the new GLA Bill do you think there will be any value in codifying the responsibilities of TfL to respond to consultations on traffic issues?

    Some people feel that TfL is not responsive when it comes to consultations and has difficulty responding to the amount of correspondence that you might get from customers. With the opportunity of a new bill going through Parliament, do you think there might be an opportunity to codify, or even restrict, some of those responsibilities?

    Do you think it would be reasonable to say that in peak hours `bendy' buses are not as appropriate a bus service as ordinary double-deckers would be for people who are frail or unwell? It really is a service best left for perhaps the fit city worker to use during peak hours, bearing in mind that you would be fairly unlikely to be guaranteed to get a seat?

    Do you feel that some of the controversy that arose on the issue of the withdrawal of family Travelcards and the Mayor's offer of free travel on the Underground show that it is much more difficult for TfL and for the Mayor to be able to offer solutions for South London transport, bearing in mind our lack of an Underground system there? What do you feel should be the approach of the Mayor, TfL, Assembly Members, and London MPs, to lobby for improved public transport provision in South London?     I will make the fundamental error then of talking about providing choices to Government. Do you think that on the Croydon Tramlink we should go with the flow in terms of just continuing to promote the extension to Crystal Palace, or do you think we should resurrect some of the other options that were being considered before?
