  • Closure of Manchester Square Fire Station (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Angie Bray
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
I think it is a bit rich coming from my colleague, Mr Hulme Cross, given that he actually voted for the closure of the fire station on LFEPA so there are a bit of crocodile tears going on there I suspect, whereas I, as the local Assembly Member for the constituency, have at all time reflected my concerns about this closure. I recognise what you are saying, that things are not as bad perhaps as they had been predicted, and indeed remain well within your target areas. However, the point that my residents would make is that rather than having...
  • Closure of Manchester Square Fire Station (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 08 November 2006
Well I am disappointed then. My concern is that there are as large number of flats, new places being opened in the area; Abbey National, Marks & Spencer and all the rest of them are turning into flats. That is a concern because the Marylebone Association is quite clear that they feel there should be a fire station there, they feel they have the potential support of people like Frank Dobson, MP for Holborn - who I gather has written to you about it - the Duke of Westminster, possible the new West End company, all sorts of people have...

In 2007/08, LFEPA will experience a £6.9M black hole in additional London Resilience funding as well as significant other London Resilience financial deficits in other years. When will the Government recognise the unique need to protect its capital city from major incidents and fund this shortfall?

  • Accountability of the Mayor's Advisors (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Bob Neill
    • Meeting date: 12 January 2005
I am therefore intrigued that of the 45 members of staff who work for you, as listed in the GLA intranet, not one of them has the word `transport' in their job description. All of them appear to relate to the public affairs side of the brief. How does that come about?
