A constituent has raised concerns with me about the lack of resilience for stations south of New Cross Gate on the Transport for London (TfL) London Overground line, highlighted by the suspension of services to West Croydon on Wednesday 28 February. In 2022 Southern Railway withdrew the services that stopped at most of these stations and, when signalling problems occur, it has sometimes been the case that through services are kept running while stopping services were cancelled. It has been noted that electric bikes can be easier for older people and those with long-term health conditions to use. Could you explain how Transport for London (TfL) considers the equality impacts of charging a higher price to hire electric bikes than non-electric bikes?

Richmond councillors have asked if Transport for London (TfL) will consider investing in improvements to the R70 bus route, such as returning frequency to its previous pattern of six buses an hour and increasing to double decker capacity at peak times, given the importance of this route to residents in Hampton, Hampton North, Fulwell and Hampton Hill?

Constituents have raised with me their dismay at the announcement by Transport for London (TfL), that the reopening of Kentish Town station after escalator refurbishment works, has been delayed. While the station is closed for this additional time, will TfL conduct a more thorough exploration of the feasibility of adding step-free access, plus other necessary improvements to this station?

Constituents have raised with me their dismay at the announcement by Transport for London (TfL), that the reopening of Kentish Town station after escalator refurbishment works, has been delayed. This station has been closed for more than a year, yet the communication to residents about the further delay focussed on explaining the alternative journeys they have already been forced to use. Will you: a) apologise to Londoners for the impact of this extended closure, and b) ask TfL to review its messaging on long-term station closures to ensure that it doesn’t assume Londoners don’t already know the options?
