    A member of a Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust WhatsApp group said that any doctor who has a visa sponsored by the Trust and decides to go on strike will be reported by the Trust to the Border Force. The Trust has since clarified that they are fully supportive of everyone’s right to strike without judgement, fear or consequence. As Chair of the London Health Board, will you reiterate to London’s health and care leadership that such threats are unacceptable?

    In November 2021 the London Assembly Health Committee called for local authorities to produce a toilet strategy based on population need and current local provision. This call for London boroughs to develop strategies for public toilet provision was reiterated by Age UK in a 2022 report, which found that 81% of older Londoners thought public toilets in their borough were bad and that there is only 1 public toilet for every 5,000 Londoners. Will the Mayor write to London boroughs to encourage them to produce toilet strategies and to work to improve the provision of public toilets in their area?

    The Bank of England has announced that the proportion of the population aged 16-64 who are not in work, and do not want a job because of long-term sickness, is at a record high. It suspects much of this rise is owing to impacts of the pandemic, including Long Covid and the increase in NHS waiting lists. Will you consider adding requirements to help support employees with Long Covid into your Good Work Standard, such as employers developing a Long Covid strategy or supporting employee Workplace Adjustment Passports?
