    • Question by: Navin Shah
    • Meeting date: 13 September 2018
There is a proposal to move Emmeline Pankhurst's statue from its current location in Victoria Tower Gardens to the private Regent's University in London. This statue was erected in the Gardens by subscription from former suffragettes in 1930, and when moved to its present site, a promise was made by the Ministry of Works that it would not be moved again. I am very concerned about this planning application. Will you publicly condemn this?

The charity has highlighted that a shortfall in welfare payments is the biggest and fastest growing reason for referrals to a foodbank. You have mentioned that the new London Food Strategy 'will include a focus on alleviating food poverty'. When will the London Food Strategy be published?

I totally support your call upon the UK Government to make a full, formal and unreserved apology for the massacre. This issue is further supported by a petition in the UK promoted recently. What is your strategy to achieve your commitment to create a war memorial to honour the Sikh servicemen and women who fought alongside British troops in the First and Second World Wars and how can the communities assist to achieve this commendable move?
