Mr Mayor, will you offer support for the formation of a Crystal Palace & Upper Norwood Neighbourhood Plan, the aim of which is to secure Crystal Palace's rightful place on the map? Spanning five boroughs, the plan provides a perfect example of cross-borough provision, encouraging councils to work together for the benefit of residents. This is a significant bid issue for London which, to date, has been severely neglected and which residents recognise would serve the distinct needs of the area as a whole.

    • Question by: Steve O'Connell
    • Meeting date: 22 February 2016
The proposal within the current Croydon Local Plan to de-designate Metropolitan Open Land (MOL) on either side of Shirley Oaks Road and all around Shirley Oaks Village for the purpose of house building will have a seriously deleterious impact on Shirley Ward. By degrading the protection of much loved Green Spaces, the Council is threatening the quality of life of my Shirley constituents. Will you assist in maintaining MOL status for this area?
