In recent weeks, it has been reported by a number of newspapers and media outlets that during the Coronavirus pandemic London has lost anywhere between half a million and more than a million residents, who have returned to their countries of birth. An estimate by the Economic Statistics Centre of Excellence has warned that London’s population may have plunged by 8 per cent, the first drop in more than 30 years.
