Does the Metropolitan Police Service actually accept in broad principle the findings of the Leveson Inquiry?

Obviously because the time has slipped for getting bids in to you by the end of February but the schemes are going to be starting in April, the new financial year, it does not give them very much leeway. Will you be giving them some extra leeway in how they can deliver those schemes?

There are the Leveson recommendations and then there are things that the police can do over and above Leveson themselves. If we go to the heart of the issues of investigating the rich and powerful, the checks and balances on judgement calls. Can we look at the MOPAC role now? My question is directly to Stephen. There are two questions and thank you. I think you have provided the Committee with some correspondence from the previous questions around this issue. Can you just explain to us how the MOPAC plans to oversee the Metropolitan Police Service implementation of the Leveson recommendations will work? I understand there was an Audit Committee yesterday. I just want to clarify a bit on that transparency process, and it goes a bit back to some earlier answers you gave on the future of community safety funding plus the DIP money. OK, not all of it, but some of it is MOPAC's money and I think in your desire for joint commissioning, is it joint decision-making or is the ultimate decision going to be with MOPAC or with the London Crime Reduction Board? What is the line of accountability? Is it ultimately advisory to you, you sign it off, or are you going to share that decision...

Can I just ask one question before we leave this section on violence against women and girls. We did hear in one of our earlier sessions that there is a shortage of refuge places in London. Is that something that MOPAC can look at, the demand and the need for that as well?

Can we move away from the preplanned operations and some of the specialist operations, and talk to what is available in boroughs in terms of response? Just to get to the bottom of two cars, four officers being added and TSG group already in existence, could you just explain to me, would they only be available to certain boroughs in terms of tasking? Do they get round to all boroughs? They do not stay in one particular borough. Perhaps I can start with the Commissioner because we are meeting on the day that Lord Justice Leveson is to announce the results of his inquiry and recommendations. No doubt there will be recommendations with regards to the police as well. I just wondered if you could take a couple of minutes just to explain whether you have actually seen the report, know what the recommendations are and how the police are going to respond to it.

Perhaps I can move to the Police and Crime Plan, and thank you, Deputy Mayor, for sending us the headline document. I think at the moment, until there is great meat on the bones, there is very little we can feedback at the moment, so we look forward to doing that in the New Year. Can I just pick up some of the training issues then. I am very pleased you said you welcomed outside providers perhaps that deal with violence against women and girls to come in and do some training, because that is one of the issues that was raised with us from those support groups. I understand that particularly with you recruiting more PCs, part of your frontline training is now going to be computer based. How do you ensure the quality of that and the quality of response to vulnerable victims with that computer-based training?
