  • Bob Kiley - House

    • Reference: 2000/0449
    • Question by: Len Duvall OBE
    • Meeting date: 20 December 2000
Can the Mayor justify the alleged purchase by Transport for London of a £2.1 million house for Bob Kiley, both given that this is a further inducement on top of his £2 million salary package, before any performance indicators have been agreed, and because of the offence it will cause to Londoners who are being priced out of our city? Why was the decision apparently made covertly?

Tramlink offers some great opportunities to improve south London travel at a reasonable cost. When will you be able to make firm proposals about the future extension of Tramlink?

    • Question by: Valerie Shawcross

    5) I am pleased that the Mayor recognises that the primary issue for the New Year celebrations are about safety, as this concern is certainly shared in Southwark. Can you please share with us what has been done to ensure that: the various agencies involved are well co-ordinated on the evening; there is sufficient public transport for people to move around the city safely, and that any difficulties with crowd build-ups near the river are dealt with quickly?
