    In response to my lobbying, you have promised to intervene to get Bus Marshals on T31 buses. In reply to me you have said Although the operator of the T31 service has stated that there is no pattern to the attacks on these buses, TfL is looking to improve the safety on these buses and will feedback any developments. Have there been any developments and will we see Bus Marshals on this route? . .

    In the latest bus performance statistics for non-timetabled (high frequency) routes available from TfL covering the period 1/1/03-31/03/03, Sutton comes 23rd of the London boroughs, with 78.4% arriving within ten minutes waiting time. Croydon fares even worse in 27th place with only 77.2% arriving within ten minutes. What does the Mayor as Chair of TfL plan to do to ensure that both Croydon and Sutton buses raise their performance levels to at least match the Greater London average of 79.96% of all waiting times being under ten minutes? .

    Waterstones bookshop in Sutton state that they had informal advice from Sutton police against opening at midnight on June 20/21 to sell the new Harry Potter book 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix'. The manager of Sutton Waterstones says that 'Sutton Police told us they didn't think it would be a safe environment for children. The person I spoke to on the telephone said the High Street was not a nice place to be on a Friday night in the summer'. Perhaps Sutton's young children can seek better protection from Albus Dumbledore than from the hard-working but hard-pressed...
