    • Question by: Darren Johnson
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2004

  • MonoMetro assessment

    • Reference: 2004/1446
    • Question by: Jenny Jones
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
In answer to my question on monometro (1266 / 2004) you quite rightly highlight the need for an integrated transport system and the need to assess whether this is possible. You say that there is little realistic scope for it to integrate with the national rail network. Do you think that in order to make such a judgement TfL should have at least taken and examined MonoMetro's assessment material?

  • Affordable housing and more affordable housing

    • Reference: 2004/1449
    • Question by: Jenny Jones
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
Can you explain how your policies on 50% affordable housing apply in a situation where existing council, or housing association, houses and flats are being demolished in order to make way for a much higher density development of mixed housing? If 2,000 homes where being replaced by 4000 homes, then would the 50% affordable housing policy apply to net increase of 2000 units?

  • North Circular property sale

    • Reference: 2004/1451
    • Question by: Jenny Jones
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
Now that the Government have again rejected the idea of funding the A406 expansion to six lanes, will you return to your original decision that this scheme would "generate further traffic, be delivered at a very high cost, require a public inquiry and take many years to complete"? Will you now act to end the decay caused by over twelve years of delay and indecision by acting upon your decision and selling off the TfL owned properties along the safeguarded route?

  • Queen's Market, Newham

    • Reference: 2004/1453
    • Question by: Jenny Jones
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
Are you concerned about the loss the traditional street markets in London and is there any way in which you can use your planning powers to help support them? Is the impact upon an existing street market a consideration when you are asked to approve a planning application for a major superstore? Are you aware of the decline of street markets in Newham, such as Rathebone Street Market, in Canning Town and Watney Market, Shadwell? Do you think that the good work being undertaken by the Newham accessible food project will be negated if Queens Market is threatened by the...
  • Partingdale Lane & road safety

    • Reference: 2004/1454
    • Question by: Jenny Jones
    • Meeting date: 17 November 2004
Will you give me your assurance that no TfL money will be used to support traffic calming measures being suggested as a way of mitigating the proposal by Barnet Council to reopen Partingdale Lane, against the wishes of local residents? Are you aware that this road was previously used as a busy rat run by up to 500 cars an hour prior to its closure seven years ago and is now transformed into a quiet country lane used by walkers, horse riders and cyclists, which has no pavements? Are you also aware that in the six weeks it was briefly...
