  • Cycling in Enfield

    • Reference: 2005/2291
    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
I understand that the LDA is currently consulting on moving the cycling facility in Eastway to Rammy Marsh in Enfield for the Olympics. As part of this proposal the Lea Valley Authority would fund the site during the Games, but will have to withdraw funding afterwards, as it will take charge of a site in the Olympic village. Could you please ensure that if this site is built in Enfield everything possible is done to ensure funding remains for it after the games in order to provide a lasting legacy for the people of Enfield?
  • Council Tax and the 2012 Olympics

    • Reference: 2005/2483
    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Has the Mayor made any progress in persuading the government to change its stated policy of loading any overspend on the 2012 Olympics onto LOndon council tax, which the Mayor has quite rightly pointed out cannot bear this liability?
  • City of London Police

    • Reference: 2005/2480
    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Does the Mayor agree that the City of London Police were right to request mobile phone networks to be shut down in the small area around Aldgate station on 7th July, before they were aware of the Met's decision not to request a general shutdown of the networks?

  • Marshgate Lane Compulsory Purchase Orders

    • Reference: 2005/0590-1
    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 07 December 2005
Can the LDA confirm that no Marshgate Lane business has attempted to negotiate a deal based on the value that the land is likely to command (ie four or five times greater than the current market value of the premises) once it has been acquired by the LDA?
  • HMIC League Table

    • Reference: 2005/2260
    • Question by: Damian Hockney
    • Meeting date: 16 November 2005
A recent report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary shows the Met as 5th from the bottom of the league table in England and Wales, while the City of London police are in the Top 10. Instead of the Met taking over the City police, why not do it the other way round?
  • Toilet Provision

    • Reference: 2005/2068
    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 16 November 2005
Please can you outline what is being done via GLA powers and assets to increase the availability of public toilet provision, including by TfL and MPA at their sites, the LDA via its regeneration programs, and GLA via its planning powers?
  • Bus Route Consultation

    • Reference: 2005/2105
    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 16 November 2005
I have recently had a quite a large number of complaints from constituents and residents associations about inadequate consultation by TfL over proposed variations to a bus route - the No. 29. I understand the changes to route 29 affect a number of other routes and that because of the total number of people affected TfL used a 'representational' consultation targeting stakeholders. Will you please ask TfL to look at this type of consultation and expand its 'width' so that so many resident, business and community groups are not left out of these consultations in the future?
  • Toilet Provision in the London Plan

    • Question by: Joanne McCartney
    • Meeting date: 16 November 2005
Will you set a target to increase the total number of public toilets available in London, including all providers, as part of the London Plan?
