Evidence from the European Natural Gas Vehicle Association is that most major cities in Europe are introducing clean, quiet, lower CO2 emission buses, fuelled by natural gas and that this trend is accelerating. All major bus makers now have the technical capability to supply natural gas engines which well exceed next January's Euro IV and already comply with the EEV and all the proposed Euro 5 standards. Crucially, without any complicated after-treatment, CNG technology produces minimal NOX pollution, which is London's greatest pollution problem.
