    • Reference: 2005/2356
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
How do you justify comments from TfL officers contained in a letter from the GLA dated 5 October 2005 to officers at the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames claiming that the Linden Homes site in Sandy Lane is "within acceptable walking distance" of the 281 and 285 bus stops in Kingston Road? With the loss of the 465 bus under London Buses' current proposals, there would be no service on a Sunday and Kingston Road bus stops are more than 700 metres away, over a footbridge. • Reference: 2005/2357
    • Question by: Geoff Pope
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Why has TfL London Buses failed to reply to a letter from the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames Principal Transport Planner asking what funds they would require to maintain the 465 bus route at its current frequency so that financial support could be sought under a Section 106 agreement with the developers of the Linden Homes site? Is it your policy that bus routes should not be subsidised by private developers?

The creation of a new bus stop outside Waitrose supermarket on the Finchley Road NW3 has meant that there is now no longer any place for people to drop off elderly or disabled persons wishing to use the supermarket (who incidentally make special arrangements for these shoppers). I have reports that any vehicle that does stop to drop off or collect these elderly or disabled persons almost always instantly receives a ticket for stopping in the bus stop. Can you please ask TfL to investigate a putting a drop off place in this new roadway scheme, and can you please...
