  • Norwood Road, SE27

    • Reference: 2005/2420
    • Question by: Roger Evans
    • Meeting date: 14 December 2005
Could the Mayor explain why TfL deems it necessary to introduce a very short bus lane on Norwood Road in order for a pedestrian crossing to be installed at the busy and dangerous junction at Lancaster Avenue/York Hill? Since the junction is already traffic light controlled, could he tell me the reason why it is necessary to change the character of the area by narrowing the pavements in West Norwood's main shopping area? What in real terms will be gained from installing the bus lane and preventing drivers from turning into York Hill from Norwood Road?
