Croydon has recently developed an Urban Regeneration Vehicle for the borough that will see the Council and its development partner take a 50:50 share in renewing the town centre. The Government is very much in favour of this innovation and is keen to see how successful it is. Has the Outer London Commission, in terms of creating urban renewal, considered schemes such as this and, if not, will you be looking into this option when working with boroughs for future regeneration projects?

What representations have been made to Government for the necessary £170m funding that the previous administration failed to take account of? When is it envisaged that a bid will be made for funding?

Have you had an explanation from TfL as to why the previous administration felt it acceptable to spend several million pounds on consultation work for the Croydon Tramlink extension, which only served to encourage residents that the extension itself was imminent, when the reality was that there was no money in the budget for the actual building work and no promise of funding from central Government to cover the cheque that TfL couldn't write?

Are there any plans or considerations yet to extend this scheme, which will begin in May 2010 in the 9 central London boroughs and royal parks, out to other local areas in the outer boroughs where such a hire scheme would be greatly appreciated?

Land for public developments is in short supply. Should transport considerations dictate where developments take place, or will the Mayor agree with the view that new developments need to be adequately serviced by TfL to meet the needs of the users?

Traders and shoppers in North Cheam, in the London Borough of Sutton, have expressed concern about parking enforcement on the A24 in the area. Will the Mayor intervene to ensure that the promised review by TfL takes place and action is taken which best reflects the will of local people?

Will the Mayor please update me on the work he has been doing on the tragic case of Robert Hughes, my constituent, who was savagely attacked in Malia, Crete on June 17, which left Robert fighting for his life.

In previous years, Croydon Council has received substantial funding from TfL for Bike Week, used to fund local activities to promote cycling in the Borough. In 2006 the Council received £10,000, in 2007 it received £2,000 and in 2008 it received nothing. Based on this evidence and at a time when cycling is featuring increasingly in London's political agenda, the impression given is that TfL are penny-pinching and out of touch when it comes to promoting cycling effectively at a local level. Could you therefore please advise me as to why Croydon Council received no funding from TfL for this...

Would the Mayor comment on Croydon's achievement on winning London in Bloom for the second successive year?
