In your speech to Conservative Party conference on 5 October 2009 you said "we have started 12,000 affordable homes...far more than my predecessor". Please provide the figures on which you based this claim.

Since 2008, climate change has risen up the political agenda. The inclusion in the new draft London Plan of the target to cut CO2 emissions by 60% by 2025 from 1990 levels (policy 5.1) and that the GLA will monitor annually the progress on the contribution of all relevant stakeholders towards its achievement is welcome. Effective implementation and monitoring needs specific policies on different aspects of planning in the London Plan and clear reference to other strategies - climate change needs to be a consistent priority across all the mayor's activities. Chapter 8 - implementing, monitoring and review National indicators for climate change have changed in scope and range. The GLA has only two key performance indicators for climate change, covering strategic development and renewables. It is not meeting the measures in new National Indicators. This means that the setting and monitoring of targets is weak compared with the Boroughs who are required to meet national targets set by CLG and DEFRA including the climate change indicators, for example 185-188. Support for a Green Enterprise District in the Thames Gateway is laudable. However, we need at least three in London, and green enterprise districts are just the tip of the iceberg. There is a wide range of economic activities which need to be supported and promoted to reduce London's carbon emissions and to adapt London's built and open environment. Why are these activities not included as part of the policy of 4.10 when they should be the highest priority? With reference to policy 3.12 in the draft London Plan, what mechanisms will be used to achieve the 60/40 split between social rented housing and intermediate housing in regenerated and new build estates, both in strategic developments which come to the Mayor and other developments?

You may remember that at the 'Your London Your Say' event on 17 September, you advised young people interested in the apprenticeship opportunities offered by the GLA, you advised them to 'get on the website and have a look'. I'm not entirely sure what website you were referring to as there is no information on apprenticeships on London.gov.uk or a dedicated website. Maybe you could clarify this for me?

Small businesses are finding the Compete4 funding structure impossible to navigate as it is too bureaucratic and, since it requires them to employ specialist bid writers to help them obtain funds, they are often 'priced out' of the process. Do you recognise this view and, if so, please inform me what you propose to do to enable small businesses to access the available funds?

How much did it cost to fly in buyers to this year's London Fashion Week, including accommodation and any other costs? Additionally, if you are going state how much money was generated as a direct result of flying these individuals in, I would like you to establish in detail the relationship between the GLA having paid for their trip and any purchases made by them.
