  • Oral Update to the Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Siân Berry
    • Meeting date: 18 January 2024
Siân Berry AM: Mr Mayor, you mentioned one budget announcement that you have made in that introduction there. I am very concerned to find that you have not sent us any more announcements yet, despite publishing your new draft consolidated budget last night [17 January 2024]. However, I do note in it that you have received an additional £512 million that you can distribute. Looking at the table for Transport for London income on page 78 of that document, it is clear there that your passenger income has dropped compared with the consultation draft budget by £128 million. That is...
  • Oral Update to the Mayor's Report (Supplementary) [3]

    • Question by: Unmesh Desai
    • Meeting date: 16 November 2023
Unmesh Desai AM: Thank you, Chair. Mr Mayor, I was pleased to see that [The Rt Hon] Suella Braverman [MP] was finally replaced as Home Secretary after the awful events last weekend. Do you agree with me that those in public office that considered her an “ideal Home Secretary” should retract their comments given that the former Home Secretary’s actions to stoke tensions in our city had serious consequences for Londoners and our police officers?
  • Crime Rates (Supplementary) [1]

    • Question by: Unmesh Desai
    • Meeting date: 20 July 2023
Unmesh Desai AM: Thank you, Chair. Good morning, Mr Mayor. Mr Mayor I was going to ask you about what measures you are taking to prevent youth violence across London this summer. What you said in your opening statement and your letter to the Prime Minister has addressed my concerns. Instead, can I raise the issue of Notting Hill Carnival, which will soon be upon us, and the policing of the carnival? Presumably, police plans are well advanced and ensure that all Londoners enjoy a safe, secure and friendly carnival.
  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: Siân Berry
    • Meeting date: 06 July 2023
Siân Berry AM: Thank you very much, Chair. Mr Mayor, I want to start with you. I want to talk about the weight of traffic there is coming into London. This really is a burden on Londoners’ shoulders, and it particularly affects outer London near our strategic roads, where there is noise and there is pollution. Obviously there are different things causing that traffic, a couple of facts are I asked outer Londoners and they told me, one in four of them, that they felt forced to. n a car because of the lack of public transport services. But there...
  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [17]

    • Question by: Unmesh Desai
    • Meeting date: 06 July 2023
Unmesh Desai AM: Thank you, Chair. Good afternoon, Mr Mayor, and good afternoon, Commissioner. Commissioner, my question is to you. Can you update the Assembly on what is being done to tackle crime on the transport network?
  • Question & Answer Session: London's Long-Term Infrastructure Needs (Supplementary) [16]

    • Question by: Siân Berry
    • Meeting date: 08 June 2023
Siân Berry AM: Thank you very much, Chair. My questions are going to be to Sir John, I am afraid. I would love to bring in the rest of you, but I do not have time. You have talked before, with my colleagues, about carbon impacts. I assume that your upcoming review is going to look quite seriously at the contribution of investments across different sectors to Government targets of net zero by 2050. My interest is transport and in London we also have our own target of net zero by 2030. I am very interested in the impact of...
  • Question & Answer Session: London's Long-Term Infrastructure Needs (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Unmesh Desai
    • Meeting date: 08 June 2023
Unmesh Desai AM: Thank you, Chair. Good morning to the panel. My lead-off question is to either Phil [Graham] or Ben [Lucas]. High speed internet access is critical for London’s businesses and residents. However, it has been reported that some parts of London have some of the worse full fibre coverage in the country. What are the reasons for this and how can this be tackled? If you would like to start off, Phil.
  • Question and Answer Session: Functional Bodies - London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) (Supplementary) [4]

    • Question by: Siân Berry
    • Meeting date: 11 November 2021
Siân Berry AM: I want to start with some questions for Lyn on transport and traffic reduction. I want to focus my questions on strategic journeys into the LLDC area and outside of it, not the local journeys, but those longer journeys into and out of the area. We saw a huge number of those for the Olympics itself, but there were also longer-term venues that attract people from longer distances, the shopping centre, the sporting venues, the new cultural venues coming up. Do you have a current assessment of the overall car travel mode share of these strategic journeys...
  • Question and Answer Session: Functional Bodies - London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) (Supplementary) [9]

    • Question by: Unmesh Desai
    • Meeting date: 11 November 2021
Unmesh Desai AM: To you formally, Sir Peter, but maybe Lyn [Garner] might be able to answer this question. The Panel has already been asked questions about community engagement, but I have still got to put this to you. How far does LLDC engage with the local community to ensure that they are benefitting from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and the Olympic legacy?
  • Question and Answer Session: Transport for London (Supplementary) [15]

    • Question by: Unmesh Desai
    • Meeting date: 02 September 2021
Unmesh Desai AM: Good morning, Mr Mayor. Good morning, Commissioner. My question is to you, Commissioner. The Mayor very rightly in his opening statement talked about safety being at the heart of everything that TfL does in all aspects of its work. My colleague Assembly Member Hirani has asked you questions about safety across the network but I want to ask you a specific question about safety on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), which is a London-wide issue although most of the DLR is in my City and East London constituency. Recently, Stephen Timms, the Member of Parliament (MP) for...
