    The Government has announced a ‘Waking Watch Relief Fund’ that will pay for fire alarm systems to be installed in high rise residential buildings which have had to have waking watches as temporary fire safety measures because of fire safety defects which have still not been fixed three and a half years after the Grenfell Tower fire. This fund, however, will not actually pay for waking watches, only a fire alarm system. Many buildings need both.
