  • Economic Impact (Supplementary) [2]

    • Question by: Andrew Pelling
    • Meeting date: 15 February 2007
I am very grateful for Mr Biggs mentioning Croydon and Sutton, and I will just briefly touch on that in the limited time that I have. Recently the Department for Work and Pensions came up with figures for Croydon Central Parliamentary Constituency. But my question is actually about the question which Mr Biggs has down about the economic development impact. I would declare an...

  • Traffic (Supplementary) [5]

    • Question by: Andrew Pelling
    • Meeting date: 06 December 2006
TfL gets a huge amount of correspondence about its consultations and other issues. It must be a very difficult task to deal with. In the new GLA Bill do you think there will be any value in codifying the responsibilities of TfL to respond to consultations on traffic issues?
  • Traffic (Supplementary) [6]

    • Question by: Andrew Pelling
    • Meeting date: 06 December 2006
Some people feel that TfL is not responsive when it comes to consultations and has difficulty responding to the amount of correspondence that you might get from customers. With the opportunity of a new bill going through Parliament, do you think there might be an opportunity to codify, or even restrict, some of those responsibilities?

  • Commissioner's Style (Supplementary) [23]

    • Question by: Andrew Pelling
    • Meeting date: 15 March 2006
Do you think it would be reasonable to say that in peak hours `bendy' buses are not as appropriate a bus service as ordinary double-deckers would be for people who are frail or unwell? It really is a service best left for perhaps the fit city worker to use during peak hours, bearing in mind that you would be fairly unlikely to be guaranteed to get a seat?
  • Rail Capacity in South London (Supplementary) [11]

    • Question by: Andrew Pelling
    • Meeting date: 15 March 2006
Do you feel that some of the controversy that arose on the issue of the withdrawal of family Travelcards and the Mayor's offer of free travel on the Underground show that it is much more difficult for TfL and for the Mayor to be able to offer solutions for South London transport, bearing in mind our lack of an Underground system there? What do you feel should be the approach of the Mayor, TfL, Assembly Members, and London MPs, to lobby for improved public transport provision in South London? After all, in some of these debates about investing in Crossrail...
